3 Exercise Bike Reviews Put On Clearance Sale For A Reason
This Christmas exercise bikes on clearance seem to be the craze, over the past few years I have had a chance to do some reviews and I posted the 3 exercise bikes your likely to find at clearance sale prices, in stores such as Target and Wal Mart. Remember this, some of the bikes may have been used and returned from a past unhappy shopper, so look for a box that appears it was never opened. Nothing like buying a exercise bike that’s missing a screw or two.
Schwinn Active 10 Series Upright Exercise Bike by Schwinn $199.00 this exercise bike has bad design with both the seat and the bars. The seat is not very comfortable at all. It will be nothing like the gym bikes you may have gotten used to. The problem is seat actually points away from the bars so you need to be benched over in order to reach the bars , not good for the back.
As for the Handel bars the design of the Schwinn Active 10 bike allows you to have a few different positions, I have fairly short arms and with the seat pointing away as it does it makes it nearly impossible to reach. When you pedal hard and put pressure on the bike it moves the bars up and down, this can get really annoying when you’re trying to push yourself to just go that extra .5 mile and all of the sudden the bars move down and scare the heck out of you. Not very good!! My review for Schwinn Active 10 Series Upright Exercise Bike by Schwinn is this exercise bike did not meat up to my standards.
The next exercise bike you can find on clearance is the Stamina 1300 Magnetic Resistance Upright Bike, $159.00 This bike is perfect for women who need a low impact workout machine. Assembly is easy, fast and self explanatory. The only hard part comes when attaching the tension cable end to the bracket and spring hook, but if your husband is mechanically inclined he should find assembly rather easy. The Stamina 1300 Magnetic Resistance Upright Bike performed fine, but the LED display stopped working, so it may be necessary to un hook the LED meter and wiggle the connection wire from time to time. The seat is very hard and not very comfortable, so I recommend a good seat cushion. In the end my review of the Stamina 1300 Magnetic Resistance Upright Bike is very good, well priced on clearance you’ll find this bike for less than $160, not bad. 4 out of 5 stars.
Another exercise bike you may find on clearance at target is the Confidence Foldable Stow Away Exercise Bike, $130. The assembly of the Confidence bike wasn’t that difficult, and only took about a 30 minutes or so. The seat was solid as a rock, I’m 5′8″, and this bike is a little too short for me. The seat is at its highest point, and my knees bump my forearms with every pedal. Also, I started on setting 5 of 8 (which was initially the perfect resistance), but when I went to move it up to 6, I noticed a horrible grinding sound, like the magnets in the bike had shifted. I can actually feel them scraping over each other with every pedal, and the sound is unacceptable. And finally, this bike doesn’t fold up. I am deeply unsatisfied with this exercise bike, I hope I can repair it myself (as the company in question won’t listen to either requests for maintenance or return).
