Dr Atkins’ the creator of the Atkins diet whole theory is when you cut out carbohydrates, force your body into burning fat rather than storing it to provide it with energy. Low fat diets can be expensive and the carb counting can be tedious and confusing for many. And the Atkins plan will not teach you about the basic principles of a balanced, healthy diet, for that you will need a product like the one I created.

There are alot of low carb diets out there but do they work ? One diet I want to look at today is the Atkins Diet, let me explain how it works and whats involved.
The Atkins diet program consists of a 4 phase eating plan for weight loss. Phase 4 of the Atkins diet involves how to maintain the weight loss.

The Basic concept Of The Atkins Diet

Atkins diet is all about limiting and cutting your carbohydrate gram consumption. Carbohydrates in the first 2 weeks of the plan will be very little if any, then your to slowly add some carbohydrates back into your diet later on as the diet progresses.

Lets Look At How The Atkins Diet Works

Phase one: Induction to the diet: You eat no more than 20 grams of carbohydrate a day during the first 2 weeks. This may make you tired as carbs are your body’s fuel, but you will get used to it and may like it, but some don’t respond well to the drastic carb cutback.

Phase two: Phase two you will begin to add more carbs to your diet and increasing your carbohydrate intake. Some of the foods they recommend include nuts, seeds, and some berries. Not a whole lot living on nuts and seeds can be hard if your bodys used to a normal size lunch, but diets are never easy so you will need to make sacrifices for the Atkins diet or any diet to work.

Phase three: When you get 10 pounds of your weight goal, you will start Phase three of the Atkins diet, adding 5 to 10 grams of carbs to your diet each week for as long as you are trying to get to your desired weight. If you notice counting carbs is a must for the Atkins diet so if your not disciplined enough to do so, this diet may not be for you. Some people lose interest in the carb counting quickly.

Phase four: After you have reached your desired weight for about a month and have maintained it, you will move into Phase four. At this point, counting carbs should come easy and you should know how many carb grams you can eat without experiencing weight gain. Again the whole diet revolves around counting and cutting back on your carbs, so know what your getting into before you start the Atkins diet.

Like most fitness experts, the high fat content of the Atkins diet really concerns me. Even if followers don’t eat vast amounts, I’m not big on the idea of a diet that suggests it’s OK to eat large amounts of fat. In my opinion if your gona count carbs why not just count and limit your calories in a healthy way along with a exercise program designed for you by a trainer, this may be a better diet plan than the Atkins. And if you need help my product Myaudibletrainer might be the perfect fit for all your weight loss goals.
