Happy New Year 2010 Treadmills For Weight Loss

The 2010 new year is finally here, time for resolutions and changes, this year women of all ages will get back into shape, try countless diets and change there eating habits, some will fail some will achieve all there goals, and more. When we are in shape our confidence soars, and our overall happiness is much higher, a fit women is one too be reckoned with, she looks good, feels better and she won’t be taken likely, but whats the best exercise to get into shape this new year ?

A treadmill workout In my opinion is one of the best workouts to burn your fat and lose weight. When you run on a treadmill, you can make changes to your incline, increase and reduce the speed and resistance of your treadmill, and as you get into better shape you can really push yourself. Some women though find that using a treadmill can be boring. I am not one of those women, when I’m on the treadmill I always make my fitness fun by watching a movie, listening to music and sometimes I even read a book while I exercise. It’s my time to put on some headphones and get away, before I know it 30 minutes has passed and I just got one step closer to my own fitness goals.

When running on a treadmill, you will get a better result when you raise the concentration of your workout. To do this, try speeding up your walking speeds and increasing your treadmills incline. Some of the newer more expensive treadmills have preset programs which are meant to be more challenging as they are designed to work on various muscle groups.

Keep in mind like any other workouts you may encounter, there are things that women should avoid during there treadmill workouts. First, do not get on your treadmill while it is set at full speed. The correct way to begin your workout is by starting at a slow speed. Try and not hold the handrails either, you want to let your hands fall naturally as if you were walking normally. Pay attention to your posture you can damage your muscles on a treadmill when you have a poor posture.

If you want to start using a treadmill here are a few ways to get the most from treadmill workout:

Incline and Decline Levels Why There Important

The newer machines now offer declines as well as inclines on their programs, use them!!  Why not try running uphill at a 2-5% incline. When you change the levels you will hit a completely different set of muscles in the legs thereby toning, strengthening them and adding shape, giving you legs to die for. Use the decline option to slow down your running a bit and catch your breath when you might need it.

Perform Interval Training When On Your Treadmill

The bottom line is interval training burns more calories than regular fitness workouts and newer treadmills found in your local gym allow you to use preset programs to allow for interval training during your treadmill workout. What is interval training, interval training is when you rotate between two distinct exercises for a period of two minutes or more. For example walking or running for two minutes, then walking or running on an decline for another two minutes. This rotation should continue for at least thirty minutes at a time to get the most from your workouts. Interval training will raise your heart rate much more than it normally would be and interval training also shocks the body forcing it to burn more calories and body fat, Yea!!!  Using the treadmill’s settings to raise and lower the incline and speed as needed to complete the workout, trust me you will need to use these speed changes, they are your friend, and there there to help.
